Carol Stevens is a visual artist, living and working in Western Australia.

In 2020 she co-founded Artforms WA, a successful arts fabrication business based in Perth. Carol has now commenced on a solo challenge, creating her own designs in metal and in print form.

Clients can work directly with Carol to design and create their own bespoke artworks. Carol works closely with her clients, listening to their ideas and requirements. This collaboration, with the sharing of understanding of design elements such as materials, fabrication techniques and artwork location, enables the creation of artworks which reflect the clients’ original concepts as accurately as possible.

Examples of Carol's work in the public domain include sculptures, entry statements, screens, shade shelters, commemorative artworks, play equipment, functional artworks, garden artworks and decorative signage. 

Carol has worked closely with councils across Western Australia as well as groups such as the RSL and Perth Zoo. She has also fabricated artworks for other artists for permanent public art projects and for Sculptures by the Sea in both Cottesloe and Bondi.

Carol works in Corten and stainless steel, aluminium, wood, bronze, granite, glass, vitreous enamel and acrylic. She prepares her work for laser etching and laser cutting, and printing. Her hand-drawn, highly detailed designs are often based around native Western Australian flora and fauna.

Carol has a 'Buy Local' policy. She fabricates her own work or collaborates with local fabricators, such as Artforms WA. Wherever possible, Carol sources her materials from local suppliers.

Bringing a public artwork to fruition can be a complex, multi-phase operation. As well as working on her own designs, Carol supports other artists with all aspects of the public art process. She many years of experience in project-managing public art fabrication and installation. Carol assists artists in the collaboration process with other agencies, in design, material sourcing, fabrication and installation.
